Block bet
What it means
A small bet by the first player to act, typically on the river, to see a cheaper showdown or collect some thin value, aiming to stop your opponent from making a bigger bet.
Example
With second pair out of position on the river, betting 1/4 pot instead of checking and facing a 3/4 bet.
