Side pot
What it means
A separate pot created when a player goes all-in with fewer chips than the others. That player can only win from each opponent as much as they put in; whatever the others keep betting goes into a side pot that only they compete for.
Example
A goes all-in for 20 bb and B and C call, with more chips behind: the main pot is 60 bb and all three can win it. If B then bets 30 bb and C calls, those 60 bb go into a side pot that only B or C can win.
Also called: Bote paralelo · Botes paralelos · Pozo lateral · Side pots · Main pot · Pozo principal
