6-max
What it means
A table of up to six players: UTG, HJ, CO, BTN, SB and BB. It is the base format of the courses. With fewer players left to act behind, opening ranges are wider than at a 9-handed table.
Example
From UTG at 6-max there are five players left to act; at a 9-handed table, the first player to open has eight behind and plays fewer hands.
