Check-call

What it means

Checking and, if your opponent bets, calling. Out of position it keeps the pot manageable with a medium or strong hand that isn't the nuts and lets your opponent bluff. It pays less than betting against opponents who, if you check, check back with worse hands.

Example

Out of position with on : you check and call your opponent's bet. The pot doesn't grow too much and your opponent keeps bluffing with their draws.

Also called: Pasar y pagar · Pasar-pagar · Check/call · X/C
