Combo draw

What it means

A draw that combines two ways to improve: flush and straight at once, or a draw with a pair. It usually has 12 to 15 outs and, against many made hands, almost half the equity. It's the most comfortable semi-bluff for a check-raise: if they fold you win the pot, and if they call you continue with a lot of equity.

Example

With J♦9♦ on T♦8♠4♦ you have a flush draw (9 diamonds) and an open-ended straight draw (Q or 7): leaving out the Q♦ and the 7♦, which already count as diamonds, that's 15 outs.

Also called: combo draw · proyecto combinado · doble proyecto
