What it means
What you know or believe about how a specific opponent plays, based on what you have seen: what range they bet with, how often they fold, how often they bluff. It changes the numbers in the calculation (for example, how often they fold to a given size); with no reads, you play the base strategy.
Example
If you have seen the BB fold a lot to big c-bets, that read raises the folds you put into your bluff calculation.
