Standard error

What it means

How much the winrate you see can move by chance, for a given number of hands: standard deviation ÷ √(hands ÷ 100). The 95% interval is ± 1.96 errors, and it shrinks with more hands.

Example

With a standard deviation of 100 bb/100 and 10,000 hands: error = 100 / √100 = 10 bb/100, so the 95% interval is ± 19.6 bb/100 around the true winrate.
