5-bet

What it means

A re-raise over a 4-bet. At 100 bb it's almost always all-in: after a 4-bet to 18–24 bb, any 5-bet that isn't all-in leaves less than a pot behind. Its range is small and almost all value, because as a bluff it needs a lot of folds.

Example

The CO opens to 2.5, the BTN 3-bets to 7.5, the CO 4-bets to 18 and the BTN goes all-in: a 5-bet. The CO calls 82 into a final pot of 201.5: they need 40.7% equity.
