Best response
What it means
The strategy that wins the most against a FIXED strategy from your opponent. It holds for the strategy you assign your opponent: if that strategy changes, the best response changes. At equilibrium, each player is already playing a best response to the other.
Example
If the SB shoves every hand with 10 bb, the BB's best response is to call 66.2% (in the push/fold model), much more than the 37.3% at equilibrium.
