Limp
What it means
Entering the pot preflop by just calling the big blind instead of raising. As a first action it's generally discouraged because it doesn't give you the initiative or the chance to win the pot right away.
Example
It's folded to the CO, who just puts in 1 bb with . That's a limp; the baseline recommendation is to open to 2.5 bb or fold.
