Overlimp

What it means

Entering by calling just the big blind after another player has already limped. It is used with speculative hands (small pairs, suited connectors) that want to see a cheap flop; the risk is that someone behind raises.

Example

The HJ limps and on the BTN you put in 1 bb with : that is an overlimp. If you want to play the pot against the limper alone, the alternative is an iso-raise.

Also called: Overlimpear · Over-limp
