Risk premium

What it means

The extra equity a call in a tournament needs above what it would need in chip-EV, because of ICM. It grows near the money and, above all, when another player is very short.

Example

The BB facing the SB's all-in with 10 bb: in chip-EV it needs 45%; on the 65/35 bubble with a third player at 4 bb it needs 63.5%. The risk premium is 18.5 points.

Also called: prima de riesgo
