Bubble factor

What it means

The ratio between what you lose in prize money (ICM) if you lose an all-in and what you gain if you win it. With a bubble factor BF, a call where you risk as many chips as you can win needs BF / (1 + BF) equity instead of 50%. It depends on the payouts, your stack, your opponent's and everyone else's.

Example

Three players with 10 bb and 65/35 payouts: winning an all-in adds 21.67 and losing it subtracts 33.33. BF = 1.538 → the call needs 60.6%.

Also called: factor burbuja · BF
