Blinds
What it means
Forced bets posted by the two players to the left of the button before the cards are dealt (in heads-up, with only two players, the button posts the small blind and the other player the big blind). They create an initial pot to fight over.
Example
With 0.5/1 blinds, the SB posts 0.5 bb and the BB posts 1 bb before seeing their cards.
