Value-to-bluff ratio

What it means

How many value combos there are for each bluff in the range that bets the river. With a polarized range, the ratio that makes your opponent indifferent with a bluff catcher depends on the size: bluffs can be A / (P + 2A) of the range. At 1/3 pot it's 4:1; at pot, 2:1; at 2 pots, 1.5:1. More size, more bluffs per value combo.

Example

Pot of 27.5 bb and a 41 bb overbet: bluffs can be 37.44% of the range, a ratio of 1.671:1. With 23 value combos, up to 13 bluffs fit.
