Alpha (α)

What it means

The minimum fold frequency a pure bluff needs to not lose chips: bet / (pot + bet). It's the "bluff break-even" from the Intermediate level, now with a name.

Example

You bet 6 bb into a pot of 9: α = 6 / 15 = 40%. If your opponent folds more than that, the bluff wins chips on its own.

Also called: alpha · break-even del farol
